The big day has arrived. Today, Tuesday 18 April, Iveco Bus is inaugurating the new Foggia plant, in south Italy. Here, in fact, the new lines for the final assembly of high-tech, zero-emission (BEV and FCEV) and low-emission (methane/biomethane and latest-generation diesel/biodiesel) buses will be realized.

4,000 buses to be produced by 2026

A total of four thousand buses will be assembled there until 2026, the group announced. Buses produced in Foggia will be headed to Italian market and also shipped through the Mediterranean sea to reach destinations in Africa and Middle-East.

The initial manufacturing of the new buses will begin in the Group’s other plants. It will continue in Foggia, with installation of the alternative propulsion systems and battery modules produced in Turin. It will also be completed in Foggia with the addition of components largely supplied by the national automotive supply chain, Iveco Bus stresses. The manufacture and R&D activities on batteries, as well as the engine supply of low-emission vehicles, will be entrusted – as mentioned – to FPT Industrial, the Group brand dedicated to powertrain technologies.
